Convair B-36 Peacemaker

The B-36J pictured here had been removed from one USAF Museum gallery in preparation for moving to the new building visible at the far left.  To get the aircraft out of the old building, a sizable portion of each wingtip was temporarily removed.  The F-16 in the pictures gives some reference to the size of the B-36.  It is too bad that the sound of this beast is not available here.  The sound of the wing air flow contacting the rotating props was unique in my experience.

The B-36J shown here now resides it's home.
