E-2C Hawkeye

The E-2C
Hawkeye is the U.S. Navy's all-weather, carrier-based tactical airborne
warning and control system platform. It operates as a component
of the command and control functions for the carrier battle group.
Additional missions include surface surveillance coordination, strike and
interceptor control, search and rescue guidance and communications relay.
Carrier-based
E-2C Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft direct combat air patrol
protecting carrier battle groups E-2Cs and AEGIS cruisers,
working together, provide total air mass superiority over the American
fleet.
The aircraft
shown here is a E-2C+ with the is modified with the eight-bladed
NP2000 propeller. The new propeller made by Hamilton-Sundstrand
increases performance and safety along with better maintenance techniques.
